Bagini Glacier Trek

Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand

Bagini Glacier stands proudly at an altitude of 14,816 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Originating near the base of Trishuli Peak and Changabang Peak, it flows northwards within the Nanda Devi National Park, offering enchanting views of the serene surroundings. The trek to Bagini Glacier commences from Joshimath, taking you through Jumma and Ruing Village, and revealing surprises like the ancient Dronagiri Village with its ruins and inhabited areas. As the trek progresses, Bagini Base Camp becomes the next destination after Dronagiri Village.

The trail unfolds spectacular views of peaks, with Rishi Peak being a prominent highlight on the way to the base camp. Longatulli, another stop on the trek, offers breathtaking vistas of Satminal, Hardeul, and Rishi Pahar. Reaching Bagini Base Camp provides trekkers with ample time to explore the stunning surroundings, with the Bagini Glacier being a major attraction. Witnessing the astounding serenity and taking in the panoramic views become the highlights of the trek. As the journey continues, retracing the path brings trekkers back to Ruing Village.

We will begin our Garuda expedition in Joshimath, where our executive will greet you. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to a guest house to relax and enjoy your evening, followed by an overnight stay.
After a delectable lunch and completing all paperwork, we will embark on a 2-hour drive to Jumma and Ruing village, our base point for the night. We will set up camp and stay overnight in tents.
After breakfast, we will resume our trek to Dronagiri Village, carrying packed lunches. The 5-6 hour trek to Dronagiri, the highest village in the valley, is steep. Dronagiri will be our base point for the night, with accommodations in tents or a homestay.
After breakfast, we’ll trek from Dronagiri Village to Longatulli camp, a journey of about 5-6 hours. Given the long route, expect around 30 minutes of trekking immediately after departing from Dronagiri.
To catch the sunrise from Changabang base camp, we need to begin early. The base camp is approximately 3-4 kilometers from Bagini, requiring an early start to reach in time.
After breakfast, we’ll resume our trek to Ruing Village with packed lunches. The trek will take 3-4 hours. After an hour of trekking from the campsite, we’ll reach Ruing. From there, we will transfer you to your hotel in Joshimath.
