As the trek begins, trekkers venture into jungles of Oak and Deodar trees, creating a serene and enchanting ambiance.

The forested trail, home to diverse wildlife, may reveal pug marks of leopards or Himalayan black bears, adding an element of wilderness to the trek. The abundance of Rhododendron trees, with their fiery red flowers, further enhances the scenic beauty of the mountains. Kuari Pass trek offers a highly varied and scenic experience, where trekkers find themselves walking under a natural marquee of trees, surrounded by the raw beauty of the Himalayan landscape.

The trail not only provides a glimpse into the rich flora and fauna but also allows trekkers to connect with the tranquility of the mountains. The best time for the Kuari Pass trek is from December to March when the entire trail is adorned in a pristine blanket of snow. The winter wonderland transforms the landscape into a magical realm, offering a unique and enchanting experience for trekkers seeking the thrill of a snowy adventure. As trekkers ascend, more peaks reveal themselves, including Nanda Ghunti, Hathi Ghoda Parbat, Neelkanth, Dronagiri, Mukut Parbat, Mana, Rishi Pahad, and Changbang, among others. The journey to Joshimath promises to be challenging yet rewarding, offering endless breathtaking vistas. Our Garuda expedition commences from a Joshimath base, where our executive will warmly welcome you. Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to a guest house, where you can unwind and enjoy the evening, staying overnight in comfort.
After breakfast, we depart for Dhak village in Joshimath tehsil, a scenic 45-minute drive over rocky terrain. Our trek begins here, offering views of the gentle slopes of the Sleeping Lady Mountain. At our campsite, anticipate witnessing the Dronagiri peak bathed in the shimmering morning light the following dawn.
In March, you may still encounter white and pink blossoms amidst walnut and various coniferous trees. The conifer forests of Gulling, our second campsite on the trek, await us. Along the trail, marvel at the majestic Hathi-Ghori peaks and the partially sideways view of Dronagiri, showcasing their splendorous presence.
On the fourth day, we embark on the summit day, trekking up to Khullara Top with a moderate ascent covering 4 km. Regular breaks are encouraged every 15 minutes to rest and rejuvenate. After approximately 2 hours at Jhandi Dhar, a convenient rest stop, lunch will be provided either en route or upon arrival at the base of the Kuari High Pass.
Crossing the Bugyals of Gorson involves a smooth, hassle-free trek across gently rolling terrain, devoid of strenuous climbs. While the high winter snow may leave the area somewhat deserted, the journey remains serene. Upon arrival at Auli, we drive to Joshimath and check into our hotel for a comfortable stay.
